Wreaths Across America

On Tuesday, September 19th, the Wreaths Across America (WAA) Mobile Education Exhibit (MEE) will be at the New Lebanon Jr/Sr High School, 14665 Rt. 22. The event, sponsored by the Stephentown Area Veterans together with the New Lebanon and Berlin American Legions, will be open to students from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm, and the public from 3:30 to 7 pm.

New Lebanon CS Alumni Reunion

New Lebanon Central School graduates from the Classes of 1949 to 1999 and their guests gathered for their school’s annual alumni dinner reunion on Saturday, July 15th at Zucchini’s Restaurant in Pittsfield, MA. There was reminiscing about high school days, catching up on current lives, viewing of school memorabilia, and all enjoyed a delicious Italian buffet dinner. Richard Burns represented the Class of 1949 and Anna Southard represented the Class of 1999. The Class of 1966 had the most classmates present with eight alumni.

New Lebanon Town Clean-Up Day

The Town of New Lebanon will hold its 2023 town clean-up day on Saturday, September 16th, from 8 am to 2 pm, just past the little league field in Shatford Park, rain or shine. Bring a food donation when you come to the town hall to get your punch card. Residents are allowed 2 trips per punch card. Punch cards can be obtained from the Town Clerk’s Office, the Building Department, and the Supervisor’s Office during their regular hours. New Lebanon School Supply Drive

Lebanon Valley Community Corporation (LVCC), a newly formed 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity organization, fosters the community and economic well-being of the Town of New Lebanon, its residents, and its neighbors.

The LVCC, together with the Unity Lodge No. 9 F. & A.M. Valatie NY, is sponsoring the Annual School Supply Drive. All proceeds will go towards purchasing supplies for children in the New Lebanon and Ichabod Crane Central School Districts. [Read more…] about New Lebanon School Supply Drive

Historical Society Presentation

State of Emergency Declared

A State of Emergency and a Local Emergency Order for the Town of New Lebanon was issued last week due to emergency conditions produced by flooding that occurred in the vicinity of Main Street in the Town of New Lebanon sometime during the evening of June 28th or the early morning hours of June 29th. The flooding, which occurred when a large beaver dam broke in the Pittsfield State Forest, emptied tens of millions of gallons of water around Main St.

Rutland Railroad Historical Society Presentation

“Rutland Railroad's Chatham Subdivision: What the Railroad Meant to Our Communities,” a presentation by Dave Saums of Rutland Railroad Historical Society, will be held on Sunday, June 25th, at 2 pm. The event, hosted by the Lebanon Valley Historical Society (LVHS), will be held at the New Lebanon Town Hall, 14755 Rt. 22, and will include many historic, and in some cases previously unseen, photographs of the stations, communities, operations, and people of the former Rutland Railroad line that once ran from North Bennington, VT to Chatham, NY.

New Lebanon Class of 2023 Parade

We are planning a graduate recessional parade immediately following graduation on Friday, June 23rd. The hope is to begin around 7:15 pm, but will be dependent on when the graduation ceremony has concluded. The parade will be led by area emergency service vehicles who will be escorting our senior class in their cars from Walter B. Howard Elementary School to the Junior/Senior High School to symbolize their educational journey in our district. Community members are invited to park their cars along Route 20/22 to cheer on our graduates. At the high school, the student parade will be met with teachers from both buildings with signs celebrating their successes.

Congratulations to Lindsay Tompkins of East Nassau for being named New Lebanon Central School District (NLCSD) Class of 2023 Valedictorian.

Lindsay is graduating in June with an Advanced Regents Diploma with honors and will be joining the Army Reserves after graduation. In January she will be attending Western New England University to major in Neuroscience.
