Ruth A. Stowell – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Ruth A. Stowell, 84, passed peacefully at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center on Monday, December 12, 2022. She resided on Fiske Street in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Charles Stowell who passed in 1989.

Ruth was born on May 19, 1938, in Hoosick Falls, NY, daughter of the late Earl and Helen (Kimball) Brown. She worked at several manufacturing companies including Holman’s, and the Love Joy Chaplet, both in Hoosick Falls, and retired from Nastech in Bennington, VT. Corina L. Bakaitis – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Corina L. (Jones) Bakaitis, 84, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center after a brief illness. Corina was the daughter of William W. and Ella M. (Bickford) Jones. She was born September 28, 1938, the youngest of 8 children. Corina grew up on a small dairy farm in North Petersburgh, NY. She attended Hoosick Falls High School where she met her future husband, William Bakaitis. They were married on July 3, 1955.

In addition to her husband, Corina is survived by 4 children: Veronica Royall of Brighton, CO; Corinne of Hoosick Falls; William B (Anne) of Hoosick Falls; Carole (Scott) of Troy; 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Barbara J. Greene – Obituary

Brunswick – Barbara J. Greene, 85, passed away on December 4, 2022 at her home, with her loving family by her side, after a short illness. Born in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Frank Noyes and Ellen McCullum Noyes, and the loving wife of 67 years to Albert J. Greene, Jr. Barbara for many years worked in the banking industry. She is survived by her husband Albert, her children David Greene of Grafton and Meg (Dan) Reiser of Melrose. She loved spending time with her grandchildren Daniel (Karly Dolen) Reiser, Jr., Jenna (Curtis) Beck and Elara (Thomas) Foley. In addition to her mother and father, Barbara was predeceased by her sister Nancy O’Reilly. Family and friends were invited to call on Thursday, December 8. Michael J. Driscoll – Obituary

On Monday, November 7, Michael  J. Driscoll died in a motorcycle accident in Hoosick Falls, NY. Mike was a resident of Jackson, NY for over 25 years.  He was born on July 21, 1958 in Troy, NY. He was the son of Fredrick Driscoll and Ramona Bornt. He was a graduate of Hoosick Falls Central High School in 1977. During his high school years he enjoyed playing football and wrestling. Alyce M. Danforth – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Alyce M. Danforth, 100, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2022.

Alyce was born on September 3, 1922 in Hoosick Falls, and was the daughter of the late Josephine Millett Hayes and Jack Covey. She was a lifelong resident of Hoosick Falls and was a factory worker for Bill Burns Glue Factory for many years. Linda C. Evans – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Linda Child Evans, 81, of Norwich, died Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Valley View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kelly and Richard Salinas and Tracy Vaughan and Paul Verrasto; two sons, Joshua and Matthew Clintsman; four granddaughters and one grand son-in-law, Catherine Vaughan Barber and Christopher Barber, Sarah Vaughan, Sophie and Phoebe Salinas; and two sisters, Sally Child Chirlin and Gail Child Szenes. 

Born on December 2, 1940, in Norwich, to J.R. “Dick” and Elizabeth “Betty” Child, Linda graduated from Norwich High School and Penn State University. After college she settled with her husband Peter Clintsman in Hoosick Falls, NY, where she taught English in the high school for over three decades. She was a dedicated and creative teacher whose commitment to students extended well beyond the classroom. During her tenure she advised multiple student groups each year, coached girls sports teams, and voluntarily tutored students in a variety of subjects. Edward Ruditis – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Edward Ruditis, 80, passed away on Monday, September 12 at the Glens Falls Hospital. He resided on Mechanic Street in Hoosick Falls and was the husband of the late Helen (Jones) Ruditis.

Edward was born on September 12, 1942, in Troy, NY, son of the late Edward J. and Jane (Malinowski) Ruditis. He attended schools in Watervliet and worked on the Town of Hoosick Highway Department until retiring several years ago. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Raymond F. Schaefer – Obituary

Berlin – Raymond F. Schaefer, Jr., 69, of Ocala Fla, died peacefully at his home on September 1, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in North Adams, MA on May 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Raymond F. and Evelyn Gardner Schaefer Sr.  Raised in Berlin, NY, Ray was a 1972 graduate of Berlin Central School. He enlisted in the US Navy Seabees on September 13, 1972 and served 3 years of active duty. Following active duty, he served in the Naval Reserves for 20 years, retiring from the Navy on March 1, 1994. At the end of his active duty in the Navy, Ray began employment at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, NY, working in manufacturing arms and equipment for the US Army. His kids especially remember seeing pictures of the large cannons made there and knowing that their dad made them. While working at the arsenal, Ray continued his education in the Arsenal Apprenticeship Program, receiving a degree in Metallurgy from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Richard S. Motsiff – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Richard “Rick” S. Motsiff, 73, passed away on September 9, 2022. He resided on Saratoga Street in Hoosick Falls. He was born on January 21, 1949, in Hoosick Falls, son of the late Stanley and Zita (Govone) Motsiff.

Rick was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls and served in the United States Air Force. He was formerly employed at Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls until retiring.
