Malcolm Hall – Obituary

Hoosick Falls — Malcolm E. Hall, 93, of New Road, peacefully passed into eternity on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Center for Nursing & Rehab in Hoosick Falls where he had resided since 2022. He was born to his parents Wesley and Anna Mae Hall on March 8, 1931. After graduating from Hoosick Falls High School, he remained on the family farm in West Hoosick working the dairy farm until his retirement. He married Helen Hall in 1973 and they moved to a new house built on the farm off New Road. Malcolm and Helen were married for thirty-five years until Helen’s death in 2008. Sharon Everest-Ludwig – Obituary

Sharon Everest-Ludwig, 81, formerly of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully after a long illness on December 29, 2024 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. Sharon was born on July 7, 1943 in Petersburg, NY to William and Thelma (Bentley) Mason. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1961 and went on to graduate from SUNY Plattsburgh with a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Elementary Education in 1966. Sharon started working as a caseworker for the Essex County Department of Social Services in 1966 eventually becoming Director of Social Services for Essex County before retiring after 31 years in 1997. Robert L. Duncan – Obituary

Robert Lynn “Bob” Duncan, a lifelong resident of Brunswick passed away December 18, 2024, at the age of 83, with his loving family by his side.

He was born February 1, 1941 in Troy, NY to the late Lynn and Ethel (Golden) Duncan and grew up on the family dairy farm.

For over 36 years, he worked as a senior heavy equipment operator for the Town of Brunswick Highway Department. After retiring in 2002, he continued on a part-time basis with the town for another 14 years. Until his passing, he enjoyed reminiscing about his time there, especially sharing stories from his snow plowing days.

When he wasn’t working at the town, he could be found helping his brother on the dairy farm or out chopping wood, by hand, for his beloved woodpile. He was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and their camp on Lake Ontario. He enjoyed going to casinos, traveling with friends, and spending time with his family. Alan C. Kennedy – Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alan C. Kennedy, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on December 7, 2024. Alan was a devoted husband to Patti Kennedy, cherishing a life filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. Together they raised a wonderful family, including Heather Hart, preceded in death by her husband Steve; Dawn Kennedy and her husband Levin Schwartz; and James Kennedy and his wife Cassie. Holding a special place in his heart are his grandchildren Drew, Matthew, Kevin, Colleen, Chelah, Kai, Forrest, and Ivy. Alan is also survived by his beloved sister Carole Lengyel and her husband Ed; his niece Katy Terry and her husband Jason; and his nephew Craig Lengyel and his wife Megan.

Joyce Mae Pine Seifert – Obituary

Joyce Mae Pine Seifert left us peacefully on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. Joyce was born in Cambridge, New York on May 12, 1941, to parents Lester and Ruby (Hunt) Pine. Her family ran a chicken farm and one of her many chores was to collect a basket of eggs before school.

She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School in 1958, where she was a cheerleader and caught the eye of a very handsome basketball player, Ron Seifert. Ron and Joyce went on to marry on Thanksgiving Day, 1959 and enjoyed 63 years of marriage together until his passing in August of 2023. Joyce was a natural when it came to numbers. She started her bookkeeping career at Wood Flong before she began working at Bakers Nurseries, where she worked for many years. Joyce worked alongside her husband at their antique auction business where she did everything from polishing silver, washing dishes, ironing linen, along with keeping up the books. She was a member of the West Hoosick Baptist Church. Joyce enjoyed being a part of the Walter A. Wood Alumni Association and helped keep track of former classmates and other alumni. Jean Ann LeMere O’Dell – Obituary

Petersburgh – Jean Ann LeMere O’Dell passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the age of 89 while staying at The Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, New York. She was born at her family’s farmhouse in Hill Hollow in Petersburgh, New York on January 10, 1935 to Lydia and Oscar LeMere. Jean loved growing up on her family farm and frequently shared loving memories of her childhood, especially the wonderful adventures with her brother, Roger. Roberta Webb – Obituary

Roberta Webb, 95, of Hoosick Falls NY, passed away peacefully at her home on November 23, 2024.

After growing up in Mt Kisco, NY, Roberta graduated from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. She met her husband there, James Webb from North Carolina, who then served in the Korean war.

While making a family life in Rockland County, NY, Roberta became a pioneering woman in the textile design industry. Commuting to New York City, carrying a large portfolio of J-Webb designs, brokering assignments and projects, including a special permission blanket of Disney characters. Edward E. Mullet – Obituary

Stephentown — Edward E. “Ed” Mullet, Jr., 90, of Stephentown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on November 29, 2024. Born on July 1, 1934, Edward lived a full and remarkable life. He will be remembered for his kind heart, many talents, and dedication to his family.

Ed is survived by his caring and devoted daughters, Nancy Mullet (Bob Marigliano) and Jennifer Mullet (Kevin Holsapple). Ed is also survived by his siblings, Alethia Urquhart and James Mullet. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-four years, Donna E. Mullet; son, Russell Mullet; his parents, Edward E. Mullet, Sr. and Marion Mullet; and his sister, Phyllis Bergstrom. Petersburgh –  Edward William Bedford, 66, of Petersburgh, NY, formerly of Staten Island, NY passed away at Albany Medical Center Hospital, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Formerly of Staten Island, Edward was the son of Alfred H. Bedford and AnnaMae A. Robinson Bedford. Ed was born in Staten Island, NY and had also lived in Brunswick and most recently in Petersburgh.

A 1977 graduate of Berlin High School in Cherry Plain NY, Edward worked for many companies providing services in construction, roofing, carpentry and maintenance. His last employer was Latham Village, Inc. He was a member of Barbecue Recreation bowling and horseshoe leagues. Ed was humorous, kind, hardworking and helpful. Bruce A. Hewitt – Obituary

BERLIN, NY – Bruce A. Hewitt, a life-long resident of Berlin, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. He was 83 years of age.

Bruce was born in Troy, NY to Erskine and Gladys (Jones) Hewitt. His formative years were spent in Berlin where he received his education.  Bruce was a graduate of Berlin High School, Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY where he majored in business and Albany State Teacher’s College where he earned his degree in teacher education. Soon after graduation Bruce garnered employment, as a teacher, with the Hudson City School District where, for 36 years, he taught business classes. Bruce also served as Class Advisor for several senior classes. Bruce worked with the NYS Regents Department checking Regents Exams as well as formulating questions for the NYS Business Regents Exams.
