District Welcomes New Additions

The Berlin Central School District (BCSD) is excited to welcome Meghan Reynolds as the new Berlin Middle High School Assistant Principal and Berlin Athletic Director for the BNL Athletic program.

Mrs. Reynolds has been working closely with Berlin Middle High School Principal David Bernsley, New Lebanon Athletic Director Corey Brown, and Assistant to the BNL Athletic Directors Candy Hudson over the past two weeks and is settling into her new position at BMHS wonderfully. Mrs. Reynolds is happy to have this summer to prepare and hit the ground running come fall.

2024 Retirees and Tenured Employees

The Berlin Central School District extends gratitude and congratulations to this year's retirees and tenured staff members.

A reception was recently held in the Berlin Middle High School (BMHS) cafeteria to honor this year's retirees and tenured employees. The evening began with a welcome from Interim Superintendent Dr. Maureen Long, followed by remarks about the honorees from Director of Pupil Personnel Services Tom Olsen, BMHS Principal David Bernsley, and Berlin Elementary School Principal Tracy Kent.

Local Food Pantry Provides Summer Lunch Program

Thank you to the Berlin Community Food Closet volunteers and coordinator Dianne Mosher for providing a Summer Lunch Program for students and families in need residing in the Berlin Central School District. The Berlin Community Food Closest is helping to support 47 children from the 23 families enrolled.

This past Saturday was the first pick-up for the eight-week program. Each week families pick up a five-gallon pail filled with lunch-making supplies. The themes this summer are camping, Italian, aloha, Christmas in July, beach, fiesta, baseball, and breakfast for lunch.

BCS Student Taking Part in Florida Reef Experience

This July, George Lamphere-Webster of Berlin Central School will join outstanding students from across the nation to take part in a unique veterinary career-oriented development experience, Florida Reef Experience.

The Florida Reef Experience is one of the WorldStrides family of programs that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.

SMITH 5K and Wellness Fair

The 8th Annual SMITH 5K and Berlin Middle/High School (BMHS) Wellness Fair Committee had beautiful weather on Saturday, May 18th. The morning was kicked off with 60 in-person runners and walkers taking part in the SMITH 5K.

SMITH 5K coordinator Mrs. Ariel Gilbert was able to add $2,180 to the Berlin SMITH Scholarship fund thanks to all the participants. The SMITH Scholarship will go to a graduating Berlin student who demonstrates the following qualities: Service-Merit-Integrity-Truth-Honor, in honor of Bob Smith, a Berlin Graduate.

Odyssey of the Mind Team Headed to States

Congratulations to the Berlin Elementary School (BES) Odyssey of the Mind team: Willamina Woodcock, Shayana Peterson, Devlin Maciong-Crimmel, Elizah Harrison, Daniel Hart, and Jacqueline Morstad, along with coaches Mrs. Bersaw, Mrs. Scanlon, and Mrs. Winner. The team won 2nd place in their division for the competition problem posed to them, as well as receiving the top score for the long-term problem.
