Jerred was born on October 14th, 1976 in Bennington, VT, grew up in both Petersburgh and Hoosick Falls, NY, and graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School in 1994. He spent a great deal of his adult life in Sarasota, FL. Jerred is predeceased by his father, Gene A. Mooney. On Sept. 27, 2024, Karen Cottrell Todd died in San Antonio, TX of glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. She was 68 years old.

Charles B. Bentley, Jr. – Obituary
Petersburgh – Charles Butler Bentley, Jr. passed away peacefully at home September 27, 2024 with his caretaker Louise Harrison by his side. CB fought a courageous battle with diabetes for several years.
Charles (CB, Chuck) was a lifelong resident of Petersburgh, the son of Charles B. Bentley, Sr. and Patricia Meagher Bentley. Jon Craig Surprise – Obituary
Grafton – Jon Craig Surprise of Grafton passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Troy, Craig was the son of the late John E. and Lois M. Wagner Surprise. Craig resided in Grafton most of his life. He was a graduate of LaSalle Institute and Huson Valley Community College.
Craig had a 37-year career with Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation and when he retired, he was a Traveling Operator for Hydro Facilities and Substations. Craig was Tax Assessor for many years at a number of municipalities. He was currently Tax Assessor for the Towns of Grafton, Petersburgh, Greenport and Taghkanic. Stephen E. Bowman
Petersburgh – Stephen Earl Bowman passed peacefully from this life, in the home he built, surrounded by the love of his family on September 13, 2024 at the age of 81.
Stephen was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on May 28, 1943, the son of the late Earl Bowman and Ruth (Scholz) Albrecht. He was an area resident for much of his life and had served in the U.S. Army from 1963 until 1967 in Germany. He was honorably discharged from service and with his wife, the love of his life, Kathleen M. (Schaefer) Bowman settled locally. Petersburgh – Charles Joseph Still, 57, passed away on September 4th at his residence on Babcock Lake Road. He resided there with his wife of almost 30 years, Christine (Nicholas) Still and their daughter Caroline Elizabeth.
Charles was born on February 7, 1967, in Poughkeepsie, NY and was raised in Millbrook, NY, the son of Ann E. (Maher) Still and the late Charles N. Still, Jr. He was founder and CEO of Patient Safe Rx & Technical Education Solutions. Charles met Christine when they were both new students at SUNY Plattsburgh, NY. He charmed her and they fell in love at first meeting. Grafton – William S. “Will” Snyder, 37, was taken away from us way too early from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on August 29th, 2024.
William was born November 22nd, 1986 to Rebecca (Burdick) Greene and Richard Snyder. William graduated from Berlin Central School in 2006. William started his working days at Seagroatt’s in Berlin and then at Berlin True Value and later at Mapledale Farms. Currently he continued his love for farming and enjoyed trucking at Wagner Farms part-time. She was born in Cherry Plain on July 22nd, 1928, the daughter of the late Lewis and Addie (Carr) Goodermote. Donald Ira French Jr., 90, of Berlin, New York passed away late at night on Monday, July 29th at home of natural causes.
He was born to Donald and Dorothy French in Albany, New York in September 1933. After high school, Don attended Brigham Young University to study farming and education. When he moved to Berlin, New York, Don taught History at Berlin High School. He worked there for 16 years before retiring and has enjoyed watching many of his students grow up, running into them, and talking about the mischief caused in those school hallways.

Bennington – Clara Jean Oakes, 57, passed away peacefully on August 5th, 2024 after a long illness. Born December 12th, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Richard Oakes and Martha Oakes, who survives.
