Raymond F. Schaefer – Obituary

Berlin – Raymond F. Schaefer, Jr., 69, of Ocala Fla, died peacefully at his home on September 1, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.

Born in North Adams, MA on May 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Raymond F. and Evelyn Gardner Schaefer Sr.  Raised in Berlin, NY, Ray was a 1972 graduate of Berlin Central School. He enlisted in the US Navy Seabees on September 13, 1972 and served 3 years of active duty. Following active duty, he served in the Naval Reserves for 20 years, retiring from the Navy on March 1, 1994. At the end of his active duty in the Navy, Ray began employment at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, NY, working in manufacturing arms and equipment for the US Army. His kids especially remember seeing pictures of the large cannons made there and knowing that their dad made them. While working at the arsenal, Ray continued his education in the Arsenal Apprenticeship Program, receiving a degree in Metallurgy from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Richard S. Motsiff – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Richard “Rick” S. Motsiff, 73, passed away on September 9, 2022. He resided on Saratoga Street in Hoosick Falls. He was born on January 21, 1949, in Hoosick Falls, son of the late Stanley and Zita (Govone) Motsiff.

Rick was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls and served in the United States Air Force. He was formerly employed at Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls until retiring. Patricia J. Marsh – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Patricia J. Marsh, 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont. She resided on Beechwood Road in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Robert Marsh.

Patricia was born on January 16, 1933 in Hertford, England, daughter of the late Wilfred and Ruby (Phipps) Farnham. She was the longest standing Hoosick Falls Wrestling fan, having attended competitions from 1976-2020. Edwin Thomas Webster Sr. – Obituary

Hoosick – Edwin “Tom” Thomas Webster Sr., 80, passed away on Friday, September 9th, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He resided in Hoosick, NY, with his wife, Mary Frances (Williams) Webster.

Youngest son of the late Edwin W. and Florence A. (Callahan) Webster, Tom was born on December 23, 1941, in Hoosick Falls. He was educated at Saint Mary’s Academy and Hoosick Falls Central School. Felicia Martelle – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Felicia Martelle, 93, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. She resided on First Street in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Richard Martelle who passed away in 2012.

Felicia was born on February 1, 1929, in Belvedere Marttimo, Italy, daughter of the late Luigi and Filomena Grosso. She attended schools in Italy. Felicia joined her husband Richard in the USA in 1950, where they were proud, hardworking members of the community. Janet L. Hoard – Obituary

North Bennington – Janet Lee (Thompson) Hoard, 84, a resident of North Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2022 following a brief illness. 

Born on June 24th, 1938, in Bennington Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Harriet (Brown) Thompson.

Janet was raised in North Bennington and attended North Bennington high school. 

After high school she began a career with the Stanley Tool Company’s factory in Shaftsbury, Vermont. She spent nearly 30 years employed with the company.

Zachary R. Clyde – Obituary

Petersburgh – Zachary Ryan Clyde passed away August 18, 2022 at the age of 28. He was born in Stephentown, NY to Claude and Terri Clyde.

Zach was a very compassionate, kind, peaceful, generous, and humble young man. Everyone who met him loved him. He could light up a room while making you feel welcome and loved. Zach loved the outdoors and could always be found partaking in his favorite pastimes, hunting and fishing. Zach was always excited to get in the woods on opening day or to get a pole in the water on a beautiful day. More than anything, Zach loved being a Dad and his son Mason was his entire world. McKenzie J. Siau – Obituary

McKenzie Joy Siau, 18 months old, passed away on July 17, 2022. McKenzie was born on December 30, 2020 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse NY. In her short little life, McKenzie could brighten up any room with her big smile, giggle, and dimples. Usually not too far from her momma, McKenzie was quickly becoming her own little person. She loved the family cat, GreyGrey, blueberries, and swinging in big kid swings.

David P. Siau – Obituary

David P. Siau, 39, died July 17, 2022 protecting his family while on vacation. David was born June 25, 1983 in Stamford, Connecticut to John and Melanie Siau, moving to Pompey when David was little. Over the next 21 years, he became the oldest brother to 6 sisters and 3 brothers who he loved. There are many stories of fort constructions, Lego builds, and creek adventures. David began working at Benchmark Media Systems, Inc. when he was just 16. He obtained his Associate Degrees in Electronic Media Communications from Onondaga Community College and Air Traffic Control from Beaver Falls Community College. He received his pilot’s license during his studies at Beaver Falls as well. He continued part time at Benchmark while attending college, and later returned to full-time employment. David has been Benchmark’s Production Manager since 2008. Recently David completed 24 years of service at the age of just 39.

David was quick to listen, slow to anger, and loved deeply. He made marriage easy, and Christy and David just celebrated 10 wonderful years. He had a sincere and helpful soul as he would do anything for anyone. He loved his family, being handy and was often found making his kids’ toys even better. Bruce A. Andrews – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Bruce A. Andrews, 80, passed away on Monday, August 8, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. He resided on Ball Street Ext. with his wife Rosemary (Hoag) Andrews.

Bruce was born on June 4, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Kenneth E. and Christine J. (Alderman) Andrews. He was educated at Adams Memorial High School. Bruce worked for many years in the paper industry, retiring as a Quality Control Tech at Crane & Company in Dalton, MA. A loving husband and father, Bruce was known for his gentle nature and playful sense of humor. His greatest enjoyments were the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends. From an early age, he enjoyed racing pigeons and was a member of the North Adams Pigeon Club for many years. Bruce also enjoyed traveling, raising animals and listening to oldies and country music.
