To the Editor,
I am appalled that New Lebanon Town Supervisor Michael Benson would listen to, agree and act upon the crude, cruel and contemptible words, “no show” of a scoundrel, charged against Anita Crosby – the now-dismissed bookkeeper for the Town of New Lebanon. Obviously, those looking to destroy her just saw that she wasn’t there when they were and jumped to their totally unwarranted, sneaky, cowardly conclusion. It was enough to fuel the fire already burning for her dismissal.

Panthers Avenge Loss To Stay On Top Of The Wasaren League
by Ryan Mosher
Despite a slow start in Greenwich on Friday night, the Hoosick Falls boys basketball team avenged its only loss of the season thus far in convincing fashion, with a 62-48 win.
The game’s final score was actually closer than the game actually was, as the Witches’ Joe Estramonte went on a tear in the fourth quarter, trying to single-handedly bring his team back into the game. Estramonte scored 14 points, including a pair of long three-pointers in the final quarter. [Read more…] about Panthers Avenge Loss To Stay On Top Of The Wasaren League

New Lebanon Library To Screen Project Nim
The New Lebanon Library will present the riveting documentary Project Nim on Friday, February 17, at 6:30 pm at the Library. The film will be followed by discussion and Q&A with Elizabeth Hess, author of the book Nim Chimpsky: The Chimp Who Would Be Human.
The film is an eye opening account of Nim, the chimpanzee who became the focus of a landmark 1970s experiment to show that an ape could learn to communicate with language if raised and nurtured like a human child. Problems arose when Nim’s natural instincts took over and the humans trusted with his well being failed to protect him. [Read more…] about New Lebanon Library To Screen Project Nim
