16th Annual Poestenkill Fire Company Car Show
The 16th Annual Poestenkill Fire Company Car Show will be held on Sunday, August 8, at the Poestenkill Firehouse. There will be food, refreshments, vendors and door prizes. Music will be provided by the K-Man, rain or shine. Free parking is available, and the show is free to spectators.

Dogs Dazzle In Petersburgh

Just shy of seventy-five people came to the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center on Tuesday, July 6, to see dogs dancing, flying over and through agility obstacles and performing stunts never seen before. The Dazzle Dogs Show, hosted by the Petersburgh Library, was the kick off event for this year’s summer reading program.

New Hours At The Grafton Library
New hours of operation take effect at the Grafton Community Library on Monday, August 2. To serve its patrons better, the Library will now be open on Fridays from 3 to 7 pm. The Monday, Tuesday and Thursday schedules have changed. Those days have a new closing time of 7 pm. Now on Wednesdays, the Library will open at 10 am and close at 1 pm. Saturday hours remain 10 am to 1 pm. The Library is closed on Sunday.

The Petersburgh Public Library continues the summer reading program with pre-school story hours on Tuesday mornings at 10. On August 3 join us for “Jungle Jabber” and learn all about the rain forest. August 10 features “Peppy Penguins,” when the penguin puppets will put in an appearance. The final story hour will be on August 17 when “Ice Cream Melt” will be the topic.

Neighborhood Barbecue To Benefit The Oswalds
On August 6 there will be a Center Berlin Neighborhood Barbecue at Mapledale Farm on Green’s Brook Road. The $10 ticket will get customers pulled pork, chicken, hot dogs, salads, desserts and beverages. Children’s tickets are $5 with a $30 family maximum. Proceeds from the barbecue will go to Tim and Tina Oswald to help defray medical and other bills related to Tim’s recent chainsaw accident.

On Thursday, August 12, there will be a Chicken BBQ Fundraiser at The Polish Hall for Shaun Conway, son of the late Michael Conway. Shaun has recently been diagnosed with kidney cancer in San Diego, California.
