District Welcomes New Additions

Brunswick-Brittonkill Central School District would like to welcome two new additions. First we welcome Todd Wojtal as our newly appointed Transportation Supervisor. Todd was formerly the Head Trainer with the Bethlehem Central School District where his responsibilities included recruiting, training, and compliance of all transportation employees. He is a 19A Certified Examiner (NYS-DMV) and is certified by the New York State Education Department as a School Bus Driver Instructor. He is also a member of the New York Association for Pupil Transportation and was awarded the NYAPT Employee of the year for the 2017–2018 school year.

Students Win Prize in Video Contest

TAMARAC HIGH SCHOOL

An independent group of students from Tamarac High School responded to a challenge from the Rural School Association and the New York Schools Insurance Reciprocal to produce a short film. This year’s theme was Our School, Our Community. The students, Cristopher Guido Connell, Thomas Andrew Kane II, Julius Emanuel Miller, Jacob Michael Hogan, Betsey Mae Colligan, Jack Alexander Roseberger, and Jordan Michael Broderick, facilitated by Technology teacher Dr. Jeffrey Bush, met during their lunch period to develop a creative and humorous response to the film challenge. Our 2022 Special will not only contain photos and information about the various graduation ceremonies but the lists of graduates and future plans, comments from school officials and students and much more.

As in the past, we will offer area businesses a chance to be part of this special edition with congratulatory ads. 

This year, we are also offering the parents, grandparents or other loved ones the opportunity to submit a photo of their graduate along with a short personal message.

College Signing Day – Tamarac

New Tamarac Elementary Principal

The Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District is pleased to announce that Kelly Onorato has been named the new principal of Tamarac Elementary School. Mrs. Onorato, a resident of Brunswick, is currently the assistant principal at Tamarac Elementary. She replaces Mr. Richard Pogue, who is retiring after 16 years in the District. Mrs. Onorato is bringing to the position 17 years experience in education. Kelly provided services to students in grades K-12 as a speech-language pathologist during her first 10 years in education. Kelly has also served as a member of the District Technology Committee and coached the Tamarac Girls Junior Varsity Soccer Team in the Fall of 2008.
