Hoosick Falls – Anthony “Tony” Kovage, husband, father, brother, friend, master craftsman and so much more, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Tony could be spotted around Hoosick Falls wearing his trademark white t-shirt, blue jeans and baseball cap from his extensive collection. Driving in his red truck, he’d always pass you by with a friendly wave and smile. And, it wasn’t just family and neighbors in town, he took great delight in conversation with anyone and everyone. Pownal – Samuel C. “Sam” Cottrell, 76, passed away Monday evening April 4, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Sam was born on February 25, 1946 in Troy, NY. He was the son of the late Cortland C. Cottrell and Margaret (Stearns) Cottrell. Sam was raised on a farm in Hoosick Falls, NY. Hoosick Falls – Judy A. Bachorz, 75, passed away on Thursday, March 31, at the Bennington Health & Rehab Center in Bennington, VT. She formerly resided at Woodpark Apartments in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Joseph Bachorz.

Judy was born on July 12, 1946, in Petersburg, NY, daughter of the late William J. and Dorothy E. (Parker) Lackey. She was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls and was formerly employed at the St. Stanislaw Society Club in Hoosick Falls for several years. Carol M. Donovan – Obituary

Brunswick – Carol McNeilly Donovan, 73, died March 15, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born July 11, 1948 in Cambridge, NY, the daughter of the late Alice (Welch) and Gordon McNeilly of Hoosick NY. 

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Timothy, her daughter Kate Henson (Eric) of Boulder Colorado and her son Michael Donovan (Sarah) of Canandaigua NY, four adoring grandchildren, Wyatt and Owen Henson, Tyler and Toby Donovan and her sister and closest friend, Kathy White (Kevin) of Clifton Park NY and their children Rachel, Greg and Bryan. She is also survived by the Donovan clan, her sister-in-law Ann (Bill) White, Marge (Richard) Marker and Marianne Donovan and many nieces and nephews. Donald A. Yerton – Obituary

Berlin – Donald Anson Yerton, 95, passed peacefully at home with exceptional care from his son Chris Yerton, Jessica Wright and Community Hospice.

Donald was the son of the late Ada (Bly) Yerton and Gilbert Yerton. Donald was predeceased by his cherished wife of 55 years, Charlotte M. (Crandall) Yerton whom he married in East Poestenkill, NY on December 14, 1946.

Donald spent his early years on the farm located at Hilltop Road. He met his wife Charlotte, they married and he went on to logging and ran a saw mill with his father Gilbert. Hoosick Falls – Esther L. (Woodard) Wagner, 89, passed away on April 1, 2022 at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center, Bennington VT. She had resided at the Danforth Adult Care Center since 2017, but lived most her life in West Hoosick (Hoosick Falls) New York. Esther was born November 13, 1932 at Hoosick Falls, NY, the daughter of Clayton Woodard and  Mary Jane Brown Woodard. She attended and graduated from school in Hoosick Falls. In early years, she worked at Hoosick Falls Undergarment Co., and baked pies for the Falls Diner. Darel G. Manchester – Obituary

Petersburgh – Darel Gregory Manchester, 37, died suddenly Friday, March 25, 2022. He was born in Bennington, VT on August 26, 1984, the beloved son of Colleen S. Walker Manchester of Petersburgh and the late Gregory Neil Manchester.

Darel was raised in Petersburgh and was a graduate of Berlin Central School. He was previously employed by Callahan Industries and was the owner of his own landscaping business, Above & Beyond for over 10 years. Currently he was employed as a plant operator for Westway Feed Products at the Port of Albany where he has worked since being hired in June, 2013, in a job that he loved, with coworkers he loved.

Darel loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, kayaking and skiing with his daughter. Darel was an artistic oil painter. Joan M. DeRosa – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Joan Marie (Keegan) DeRosa, 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 19, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 24, 1941 in Hoosick Falls, New York, daughter of the late Charles M. Keegan and Margaret (O’Neil) Keegan.

Joan graduated from St. Mary’s Academy and continued her education at Samaritan School of Nursing where she graduated as a registered nurse. Her work gave her the opportunity to care for patients in both Florida and then New York City before returning to her hometown of Hoosick Falls. Her nursing career started with working on the floor but then transitioned to the nursery, a place she especially enjoyed. After retirement, she continued helping others as a social worker in Rensselaer County where she worked for over 20 years. Her career speaks to who she was: a caregiver to all. Elizabeth Reynolds – Obituary

Elizabeth Sophia Goodermote Reynolds died March 7, 2022 in the home that she treasured in Echo Park, Berlin, NY, aware and grateful that her family was by her side. Even at the age of 104 years, she still had a formidable will to be fully present, commanding the moments that she could and reaching out to give her love to her family. She had lived independently until a fall at age 102, and was then able to remain in her home with the kind care of her granddaughters.  

Elizabeth was born December 11, 1917, and grew up in the years following World War I. Her parents were Arthur J “Carpenter Art” Goodermote and Marcia Vincent Goodermote. Elizabeth’s childhood days were great fun as her family was one of five on Plank Road that included five children each, making a total of 25 kids who played 2 Old Cat Bat, slid downhill on wintertime’s unplowed Plank Road and swam in the brook together, developing in her a natural ability to create her own fun, engage others and easily make new friends. She learned early to work hard, form and express an opinion, get away with some moments of feistiness and put care for others into practical action. To her last breath she prided herself on being Plank Road Tough. These gifts served her well throughout her life as she enjoyed friendships with many of all the generations.
