Lois passed away on December 27, 2010. Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home in Petersburgh, NY. Pastoral Changes At First Baptist Church
On Sunday, May 8, Rev. Dr. Thomas Azar delivered his last message as the interim pastor at the First Baptist Church of Hoosick Falls. Feeling the need to be more involved with his mother’s health care and other family obligations he decided it was time to leave Hoosick Falls. The First Baptist Church is pleased to announce that the Rev. Paul Smith and his wife Trish have arrived to take over the ministerial leadership with his first Sunday having been May 15.

At the Hoosick Area Church Association Annual Volunteer and Community Partners Appreciation Brunch on Saturday, May 21, Norma Brenenstuhl was honored as the Volunteer of the Year. Fallon Parker received the Helping Hands Award. The Partnership Award was presented to Pat Hayes for St. Mary’s Academy. This year SMA hosted the very successful Taste of Hoosick event. The Community Award was presented to Hoosick Falls Central School for supporting HACA’s various projects.

Tuesday, September 11, 1855: I got some worm wood to the widow Eliza Wylie’s to bathe my wife’s stomach where she was bruised falling into the wagon to the chapel when the horses started.
Thursday: this morning I drove the cows to pasture on the Rodgers farm, some rainy. John F. went with my horse and wagon out to the Fairbanks lot. He looked for his sheep that had got out of the pasture but could not find them.

BCS Budget Passes Easily; Accusations Of Election Violations Cloud School Board Vote

The Budget for the Berlin Central School District passed Tuesday night with election results showing 703 for and 126 against. The Budget for the 2011-2012 school year will be $17,374,000, which is $906,316 less than the 2010-2011 budget. There will be no increase in the tax levy.

Tyler Sawyer Appointed Grafton Supervisor

The Grafton Town Board voted 3-1 to appoint Tyler Sawyer as Grafton Supervisor for the rest of this year. The Board began its meeting with an executive session, and when they emerged Mike Crandall nominated Sawyer. He, Ed Fredricks and Marie Claus voted in favor, and Barbara Messenger voted against the appointment.
