The Town of Stephentown is the proud owner of a new road grader. The Town Board met in special meeting on April 5 to open bids for the new machine.
Two bids were received, one from Monroe Tractor in Latham for a Case grader, with immediate delivery, in the amount of $161,408, with $15,000 allotted for trading in the Town’s old grader. With a five-year extended warranty for $8,060, the total came to $154,468.
The second bid was from Vantage Equipment, also in Latham, for a Volvo machine, with 90 day delivery, in the amount of $174,175. The trade in offer was $16,000 and a five-year extended warranty was offered for $9,160, for a total price of $167,335.
The Board decided to accept the bid from Monroe Tractor. This machine was already being rented by the Highway Department for a few days so it stays in the Town’s possession, and the rental charge has been forgiven.
