Veterans Day Celebrated in Hoosick Falls at Wood Park and Bennington Battlefield

The Town of Hoosick celebrated Veterans Day at its parks last Thursday. A late morning service was held at the Wood Park Veterans Memorial, above, where Shari Hand sang the Star Spangled Banner and veteran Ike Powers hosted a short ceremony. Mike Mattat (Army), Pastor Hall and Father Peter Tkocz spoke. Later that same day The Friends of Bennington Battlefield hosted a ceremony on the top of Battlefield Hill. First United Church – Saying Goodbye – in Hoosick Falls

Parking an Issue on Elm Street

This is not the first time the Hoosick Falls Board of Trustees has dealt with parking problems on Elm Street in the vicinity of First Street and Railroad Avenue. In 2018, they passed a Local Law placing a two hour limit on parking. Dolley Madison Visits Wood Park in Hoosick Falls

On a recent Sunday afternoon residents, family and friends of Wood Park enjoyed a visit with Dolley Madison, the charming wife of President James Madison. Dressed in a beautiful red velvet empire style dress with matching turban, historic interpreter Phyllis Chapman, along with visuals coordinator and husband Michael Chapman, enchanted folks with tales of the life of this very special lady. Sewers, Chromebooks and Horses Discussed by Hoosick Falls Central School Board

The Hoosick Falls School Board met for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday October 21, the day the building reopened after a sewer line problem had closed the building to students for two days.
