Panther Girls Move On
The #5 seeded HFCS girls basketball team will move on in sectional play after they defeated #12 Duanesburg Tuesday February 20, 66 – 41, at HFCS.The Lady Panthers held the lead for the entire game. Logan Thayne led the way with 22 points and Eliza Whitman added 17. The girls will now play #13 Stillwater Friday evening, February 23, at Cambridge Central School. Stillwater upset #4 Berne-Knox Tuesday evening to advance. The game begins at 6 pm. Semi-finals will be at Cohoes at 6 and 7:30, with the championship game being held Friday, March 2 at Hudson Valley Community College at 6 pm.

Lady Bengals Stop The Jesters
Top seeded Tamarac took the lead early against Emma Willard and never looked back in their preliminary round matchup at Tamarac posting a 65 to 39 victory Tuesday evening as well. Next up for the Lady Bengals will be the Glens Falls Indians, Saturday, February 24 at 7:30 pm, also at Tamarac.

Tamarac Coach Curt Bailey described his team’s efforts as “focused and intense.” Senior Kayla Doody told The Eastwick Press ” we played well as a team, we worked our offense well and looked for the extra passes.”
