Letters To The Editor

April 6, 2017 By eastwickpress Leave a Comment

Thanks To David Borge

To The Editor:

It is important to acknowledge the service of David Borge in his term as our mayor.

[private]Through the most difficult of times he not only saw us through, he collaborated with major players and helped to restore our drinking water, through filtration, in record time.

Although beleaguered by those upset by these troubles, he bore the load without returning the pain upon others. In this I have much admiration for him.

He also championed Hoosick Falls, supporting anyone trying to move us forward. Groups like Hoosick Rising and the Hoosick River Greenway were given much energy by him.

He pursued and won many grant monies for us, and promoted many successful projects. There is a thriving business in the heart of the town where once there was a empty hole – he championed this cause too, while others doubted.

Although beleaguered by a crisis not of his making, I always found him friendly, smiling and optimistic.

This may be dismissed by those of another mindset, but who among us would have shouldered the load better than he did?  I for one will say, I would not have.

We of Hoosick are a hardy lot, with a proud heritage.

Thank  you, David Borge!

Sincerely,

David Sutton

Hoosick Town Councilman
