The New Lebanon Library will present “Anatomy of an Indie Novel: Moving from Concept to Publication” on Thursday, March, 5 at 6:30 pm. This event, part of the Berkshire Festival of Women’s Writers, is free and open to the public.
Publishing a book is a highly collaborative effort. This program will present the elements that went into creating the novel Rock Angel: writing, editing, publishing, marketing and art design. The panelists will discuss the challenges of bringing all these elements together and balancing each piece of the project with everyone else’s contributions. The panel will consist of local author and librarian Jeanne Bogino, Prashanti Press CEO Wendy Lipp, freelance editor Marlene Adelstein, and graphic artist and cover designer Julie Metz. Gina Coleman, marketing director of Prashanti Press, will moderate. The presentation, which will shine a light on the pros and cons of independent publishing, will be followed by audience discussion and Q&A.
