On Friday, August 22, at 7 pm at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center, 71 Main Street, Petersburgh, Historian Kathryn Sheehan of the Rensselaer County Historical Society will present a Lecture and slide show on “The History of the Fox Hollow Folk Festival.”
The Festival was founded in 1966 by Robert Beers and his family and continued for many years bringing national and international music artists to the little town of Petersburgh – nestled at the foot of the Taconic Mountains. It was also the site of a unique craft festival held yearly during the long festival weekend.
Fox Hollow attracted hundreds of people each year and was instrumental in bringing multi-cultural and world music to the United States.
The lecture is presented by the Taconic Valley Historical Society. Join us for “make your own sundaes” provided by the Stewart’s Shops. This event is open to the public, and admission is free.
