The Petersburgh Public Library continues its summer reading activities with story hour on Tuesday, July 29, at 11 am with the theme “Dance & Wiggle” when children will be learning about movement. The final story hour of the summer is on Tuesday, August 5, at 11 when the theme will be “Can You Sense It?”
The drop in craft program continues on Wednesday afternoons between 2 and 4 pm when children of all ages are invited to stop by the Library at some time during those hours to do a craft activity. On July 30 it will be “Plop Plop Fizz Fizz” – make a lava lamp and on August 6, “Poof!” – powder turns into a bouncy ball.
Children, youth and adults are reminded to keep reading this summer. The children and youth need to be sure to have their reading logs turned in either at the Library or online by Monday, August 11, at 6 pm.
For each book they read adults are invited to fill out a raffle slip to win prizes and put them in the container of their choice at the Library. The reading celebration will be held on Wednesday, August 13 between 4 and 6 pm. During that time children and youth may pick up their prizes and reading certificates. At 6 pm the drawing will be held to determine the winners of the youth and adult prizes. If you have any questions please contact the Library.
