Vanishing Skills Series
The Petersburgh Public Library will sponsor an informational workshop about dowsing on Saturday, June 14, from 10 to 11:30 am. The workshop will be led by Petersburgh resident Sue Harris. Harris came to Petersburgh in 1972 and has been a dowser and a member of the American Society of Dowsers since 1995.
This workshop is the second installment in the Library’s series about Vanishing Skills. Most of us would associate the skill of dowsing as a traditional means of locating water, and most of us would be fascinated to know about the numerous ways that those same basic tools and skills are used today. Harris will introduce participants to the many uses of this practice over time, from finding a water source, to assisting practitioners of Applied Kinesiology and Feng Shui. Participants will also be able to handle a basic dowsing tool.
Please call 658-2927, email library@petersburghpubliclibrary.org or stop in at the Library to sign up for this workshop.
A small but intrepid group went out foraging with Dan Schnoop on May 3 in the first part of this series. Everyone agreed that the morning was highly informative and highly enjoyable.
Fox Hollow Memories
Did you attend any of the Fox Hollow Festivals back in the day? Do you have any photographs or memorabilia that you would be willing to share with the Library? We would like to copy or scan any items you have for the Town’s historical records. We hope to mount an exhibit about the festival this summer so we would love to hear from you soon. Please contact the Library or Margaret Weinland at 658-3247 or marcat3@gmail.com if you have anything to share.
