On April 5 from 6 to 8 pm the 120 Gallery will be opening “2”XToo Tiny” by the Hoosick Artist Guild. This show will be a unique collection of 2 inch by 2 inch canvas paintings. Gallery 90 will be opening a show of installation and sculpture, “I will miss you,” by Gilbane Peck. And Kevin Bubriski’s photographs are still currently on display in Gallery 90.
Gilbane’s work has been exhibited in the northeast and at many emerging artist venues in New York City and Brooklyn. Recently, Gilbane received Honorary Mention for best Sculpture Exhibit and Music Performance of Bococa Arts Festival in Brooklyn.
At 7:30 pm Gilbane will be performing in the Owls Nest as part of the Music in Hoosick campaign. The Music in Hoosick campaign was begun a few months ago by a small group of Hoosick residents who wanted to bring monthly musical performances to Hoosick Falls and support their local musicians. Gilbane’s musical work is a simulated combination of voice, keyboard, guitar and violin which parallels his unique sculptures that inhabit his installations.
During the evening attendees will be invited to work on a community installation piece the will be evolving throughout the evening which will focus on line and pattern. Guests may design patterns on square and rectangular blocks that can be assembled into endless combinations for a future interactive display in the community.
