Hoosick Grange met on Wednesday, February 8. Due to many members being ill, they only had a business meeting and the Lecturer’s program.
Marion Cipperly was in charge of the program. She started with a poem titled “Taste of Winter.” She gave out quiz papers on local history. There were fourteen questions. No one got them all right. The winner got a prize. Marion read a paper on Abe Lincoln and John F. Kennedy, and how things that happened in their lives that were so much alike. She had a poem “The Outhouse.” It told of fear of the scarey place, with dark holes for seats and wasps flying around. She had a game for Valentine’s Day that had all the members names in the box, and Elsie Marpe’s name was drawn. She was the winner of a heart box of chocolates. Marion had some old Hoosick Falls High School programs and pictures from the year 1873 – 1929. Marion’s closing thought was, “A month that comes in good will go out bad.”
Martha Babbitt handed out rules on the Photography Contest. She encouraged everyone to enter. This contest will be held on March 14.
Omer and Marion Brenenstuhl were in charge of refreshments. There will not be a meeting on February 22. Our next meeting is on March 14. Don’t forget the contest.
