• Halloween Howls Party – Young children and families are invited to the Stephentown Library on Friday, October 28, at 6 pm for our annual Halloween Party. Join us for spooky stories, seasonal refreshments and watch a family friendly Halloween movie. Wear your costumes for a costume parade around the Library!
• Book Discussion Group – The Book Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, November 3, at noon to discuss Telex from Cuba by Rachel Kushner. Group meetings are held monthly in the Community Room at the Library from noon to 1 pm. Bring a lunch if you like. Copies of the book are available at the Library desk. New readers are always welcome.
• Friends of SML Meeting – The Friends of the Stephentown Memorial Library will meet on Thursday, November 3, in the SML Community Room at 7 pm. If you are interested in helping your Library, come and join this dynamic group. Many people with many skills and talents are needed. Come join us!
• Poetry Reading by local poet and publisher Trina Porte – Saturday, November 12, at 2 pm. The reading is in honor of the new anthology, lifeblood, which features work by poets who are members of the Woodstock Poetry Society and takes readers on a journey through the emotional landscape of writers ranging from college students to nationally published authors. Join us and enjoy hearing these fine poems. Books will be available for purchase and donations to the Library are always welcome. This event is free and most appropriate for mature audiences.
