The last class to graduate from the Walter A. Wood High School, in June 1961, gathered at the Hoosick Falls Country Club for its 50th Class Reunion on Friday evening, June 10. Reunion organizers, Patti Peereboom Neubauer, Brattleboro, VT, Ginny Cole Taylor, Alexandria, VA, and Jean Stacy Gore, Abilene, TX, reported the party was a great success.
Classmates and their spouses/guests who arrived from Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Wisconsin and Norway enjoyed renewing friendships and catching up on the last 50 years. Special guests, Phillip Leonard and Warren Eastwick, made the rounds visiting with their former students. Special recognition was given to our nine deceased classmates. The evening activities consisted of a buffet dinner, 50th anniversary cake, open mike to relive memories and music of the 50s-60s was played.
The following day, 17 of the members of the Class of 61, who were able to attend, were welcomed to the Walter A. Wood High School Alumni Association at its annual luncheon. Jean Stacy Gore received the prize for traveling the furthest to attend the luncheon.
