On May 14 Michael Knuetter of Berlin won the Sixth Annual Striped Bass Tournament in Troy with his 22.08 pound striper that measured 35.5 inches long. Knuetter split his $3,000 prize five ways with his partners and credited Frank Babcock of Petersburgh with his help in finding success. The bait was herring, but the exact fishing spot on the Hudson River remains a secret. “Somewhere near the Green Island Bridge,” was all Knuetter would reveal.
