In A Roll Off The Hoosick Fire Department captured the championship in the Friday National League at the Barbecue Recreation this past Sunday with a win over Beck Farms in the roll-off. Beck Farms earned a chance at the title by defeating the Barbecue Recreation team in the first round of play by the total pinfall score of 2787 to 2713. The Hoosick Fire Department earned a bye in the first round by virtue of winning a third and having the best overall wins for the year. The Hoosick Fire Department bested the Beck Farms team by the score of 3071 to 2887 to capture the championship.
In the first match Mike Mullins, who was subbing for Barbecue Recreation, led all bowlers with 239,228, 669 total while Josh Case posted a 246, 638 for Beck Farms. In the championship round, Leo Surdam rolled 246, 221, 667, Steve Surdam shot 249, 649 and Mike Pierce Jr. added 235, 632; Paul Davendonis rolled 214, 211, 576 and Billy Rifenburgh 211, 547 for the Hoosick Fire Department. Josh Case was hot once again with a 268, 222, 693 effort and Bill Cipperly added a 212, 608 for Beck Farms.
The Friday National League will hold it’s banquet on Friday, May 6, at the Barbecue Recreation.
