What do you do when the ceiling of your historical building develops an ominous droop? Last year the Stephentown Historical Society called on Adam E. Squires Restoration Services to put the Heritage Center back in order. Squires will tell about the project on Monday, May 2, at 7:30 pm. Rik McClave will assist with a photo presentation showing the problem and the progress and conclusion of the work. The meeting will be at the Stephentown Heritage Center on Garfield Road, Stephentown. It is free and open to the public. The building is handicapped accessible. For directions or information, phone 518-733-5675.
Squires grew up in and still lives in Stephentown. He has been working at building restoration and home and commercial renovation since his high school apprenticeship twenty some years ago. His work involves many skills, including plaster, roof, tile and masonry work as well as carpentry.
Marilyn Osgood and Meredith Rhindress will provide a short musical interlude with their mountain dulcimers. The audience can test their voices on a few familiar songs as well and earn their time at the refreshment table.
