Beginning January 3, local Girl Scouts will be selling Girl Scout cookies to their families, friends and local businesses. As a result of this annual fund-raiser, our local scouts benefit with programs, events and travel opportunities they might not otherwise have. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Cookies cost $4 per box and come in the same flavors that they did in 2010 (Lemon Chalet Cremes, Trefoils, Do-si-dos, Samoas, Dulce de Leche, Thank U Berry Munch, Tagalongs and Thin Mints). Cookies are a great gift to give to others or to keep for yourself; they freeze well. Depending on how many boxes each troop sells, they will earn between 55 and 75 cents per box, as well as receiving other prizes. Some troops will also be participating in the Gift of Caring program, which allows customers to buy cookies that will be sent to military personnel or donated to the local food pantry.
If you don’t know a Girl Scout and would like to buy cookies or have any questions about the Gift of Caring program, please contact Joyce Brewer, local Service Unit Manager and Cookie Manager at GirlScoutsHoosick@gmail.com or 518-686-4942.
