It is summer, and it is hot. Still people flood Wood Park in Hoosick Falls for the band concerts on Wednesday evenings during July and August. July 28 was no exception. Children romped on the hillside, others played in a section that seemed devoted to young parents and children. Up close to the bandstand were the older folks there to enjoy the music. Band night is a time for socializing, enjoying popcorn, strawberry shortcake, hamburgers and desserts. On the hill, residents of Wood Park Apartments sit on the porch and enjoy the music, just removed from the crowd. The best part, of course, is the music. Every year the great Town of Hoosick Band, directed by Bill Gaillard, plays a mixture of old and new selections for everyone to enjoy.
