On Saturday, August 7, Stephentown is expected to be filled with over 400 motorcycles for the 7th Annual Memorial Motorcycle Run for Ryan Gardner and Courtney Carelli. This annual event is held to raise money to fund College Scholarships for Berlin High School students to take Hudson Valley Community College courses while attending high school. In the past years, numerous scholarships in Ryan and Courtney’s memory have been awarded, thanks to the generous donations of area businesses.
The motorcyclists depart from Gardner’s Ice Cream and Coffee Shoppe, Route 22, at 11 am and return to the Firemen’s Hall on Grange Hall Road about 1 pm. Here, there will be lots of hot dogs, hamburgers, pork dinners, salads, chips, beverages and more.
There will be two large raffles of a lawn tractor and a motorcycle trailer and a Chinese Auction with many other smaller raffles. There are motorcycle games, contests, vendors, live music, arm wrestling and a wonderful family day for folks of all ages. The public is invited to attend this year whether they ride a motorcycle or not. The entrance fee to the event is $25 per person for a full day of food and fun. If you want to be a vendor, the space is free this year with just cost of the entry fee.
