Hoosick Town Wide Tag Sale
The Annual Hoosick and Hoosick Falls Town Wide Tag Sale will be held on Saturday, May 23, from 9 am to 2 pm. Spaces will be available in Wood Park for $25.
Democrats Host Spaghetti Supper
The Town of Hoosick Democratic Party will host a Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, April 24, at the Polish Hall from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. There will be live music by Nathan Knowles from 6 to 9 pm. Tickets are on sale at Thorpe’s Pharmacy from Jim Monahan or you can call Kevin O’Malley at 686-9460, Jim Downey at 686-9023, Marilyn Douglas at 686-9707, Mark Cottrell at 686-9521 or Bob Ryan at 686-4857. Tickets will also be sold at the door, and take-outs are available. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $7 for kids 12 and under.
Celebrate Mother’s Day With Flowering Plants
The Friends of the Berlin Library are offering a beautiful assortment of flowering plants every mother would love to receive. The choices are African violets for $5, Martha Washington geraniums for $10 and azaleas for $15. Plants are available to purchase beginning Saturday, April 25, through April 30. Samples of the plants can be seen at the Library and can be purchased by cash or check made payable to Friends of the Berlin Library. You can pick up your plant at Seagroatt’s on May 6, 7 and 8 from 8 am to 4 pm or at the Berlin Library on Saturday, May 9, from 10 am to 1 pm.
Texas Hold’em
The Veterans of Stephentown will sponsor a Texas Hold’em Tournament at the Stephentown Fire Hall on Grange Hall Road on Saturday, May 9. Doors are open from 5 to 6 pm and play starts at 6:15 sharp. No advance registration is required, and a donation of $25 per player is accepted. Players can pay at the door and can buy 1,000 extra chips for $10. The tournament pays 8 places; the first player out receives $25 back. Hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bottled water, soda and coffee are available for purchase. Grafton Fire Department Breakfast
The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary will be holding an All You Can Eat Buffet Breakfast on Saturday, April 25, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85). The menu includes Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk. The cost is $7 per adult, $4 for kids 12 and under and free for kids 5 and under.

The Committee to Re-Elect Stan Brownell and Lester Goodermote invites the public to a dinner buffet at The Bridgeway Restaurant, just off Route 22 in Cherry Plain, on May 7 at 7 pm. Come and join Stan and Lester, as well as other County elected officials, for an enjoyable evening. There will be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.

Petersburgh Book Group Meeting
The book discussion group at the Petersburgh Public Library welcomes new members. The next meeting will be Monday, May 11, at 7:30 pm when the book Intuition by Allegra Goodman will be discussed. Copies of the book are available at the library for anyone interested in reading the book and joining us for the discussion.
Pre-school story hour continues on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 AM. There will be four more sessions before a short break. Come on Tuesday for stories and activities on gardening.
