Undefeated Ladies Win Wasaren League Title

For the third straight year, the Panthers are league champions, a major feat in any sport. HFCS field hockey, led by head coach Denise Campbell, has been very successful. With seven starters out due to injuries or illness, the HFCS Panthers gave the Corinth Tomahawks all the game they could handle. The shorthanded team did everyhing they could to secure an important victory but in the end a win slipped away and probably a spot in making the sectionals. Announcing “The End To End”: Twenty-Nine Miles Along The Taconic Crest Trail
The Taconic Hiking Club has announced that The End to End, a 29-mile endurance challenge along the Taconic Crest Trail, will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016.
This event pits entrants against 29 miles of unimproved backwoods trails traversing three states: New York, Vermont and Massachusetts. The challenge of this hike is a cumulative total of 7,836 feet of ascent and 9,470 feet of descent to be completed in one day. The winning continues for Panther golfers with four players winning the Wasaren League invitational. On Friday (10/2/15), the Wasaren league played their invitational at the Country Club of Troy. Berlin Boys Soccer Wins At Home vs New Lebanon, Loses Close One At Doane Stuart

On Friday October 2, the Berlin Boys Soccer team lost a close one to Doane Stuart in Rensselaer by a score of 1-0. This was the Mountaineers first league loss this season, and drops them into a tie with Loudonville Christian, whom they beat earlier this year. Corinth High, 9/30, HF (O) 10-0, (L) 8-0, Cor (O) 2-7. The Lady Panthers got out to a quick lead when Liz Ryan, with an assist from Ally Burdick, scored with less than one minute gone in the game. Burdick and Ryan both scored later in the half to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead at the break. After the Tomahawks scored an early second half goal, the Panthers scored twice more. Burdick, assisted by Megan Henry, scored first and an unassisted Ryan goal with 2:50 left capped the scoring. Cassie Sherman had five saves in goal while Corinth goalie A. Parnell recorded nine.
