A Tough Opening Week For Berlin High School Spring Sports Teams

The Berlin Mountaineers varsity baseball and softball teams opened competition in the Central Hudson Valley League this past week, but the results were not what either team hoped for. The Berlin boys hosted the Eagles of Loudonville Christian in their season opener. The game remained close in the early innings, with Berlin starter Garrett Fiske keeping the Eagles’ bats fairly quiet. Lace Up And Run For A Cure
The Fourth Annual “Lace up for a Cure” 5K Run/Walk is on Saturday, April 16. Start time is 9 am at Wood Memorial Park on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Prizes awarded to the top female and male runners. Register early for a chance to win a gift certificate ($10-$50 value) and save time on race day. The Kids’ Fun Run starts right afterthe 5K Run/Walk.
Registration fees are $25 by April 10, and $30 after; the the Kids’ Fun Run is $7. Registration forms available at Charity’s Hair Studio, Village Primary Care, or by emailing gyonconish@roadrunner.com.
