MAUHS, 5/7. The Ladies suffered a loss to a red hot team. Mount Anthony has been mowing down opponents by double figures and the Panthers suffered a similar fate. Lady Mountaineers Post Second Win Of The CHVL Softball Campaign

Starting pitcher Amanda Despart struck out 9 and Alissa Bierwirth had three hits in Berlin’s victory over Doane Stuart this past week.  The 13 to 5 win was the second of the season for the young Berlin Squad that boasts but four seniors.  Haley Maxon and Despart each doubled and Vicky Smith helped seal the win with a sparkling shoestring catch in the field. Ladies Softball Has Up And Down Week

HFCS, 5/10. Hoosick Falls struggled to hit the ball against Greenwich. Two hits late in the game weren’t enough after the Panthers had fallen behind by 10 runs before they scored. Sabrina Whitehouse hit two out of the park home runs for Greenwich. Alyssa Ellis pitched for the Panthers.

Grafton Lakes Joins 110 Other Parks Across New York For “I Love My Park Day”

More than 100 volunteers braved the early morning rain showers this past Saturday morning, to help give Grafton Lakes State Park its annual spring facelift.  The gathering broke into several groups, cleaning the pavilion areas, the beach and park offices as well as the shorelines, the gardens and blueberry fields, rebuilding rustic benches along Long Pond trail and some special attention paid to the Fire Tower trail.  The event is coordinated by Parks & Trails New York and involves 6,500 volunteers statewide.  Locally, several troops of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts were joined by Cub Scout pack 911 and The Friends of Grafton State Park.  Gathering at Deerfield Pavilion before trekking off on their assignments, the workers were thanked by Veronica Fitzgerald, a member of the Parks & Trails Board.  Fitzgerald telling them “your work today will bring real, tangible enhancements to the park.  It will also send a strong message to elected officials that people love their parks.” [Read more…] about Grafton Lakes Joins 110 Other Parks Across New York For “I Love My Park Day”

Opening Day For Taconic Valley Soccer In Berlin
