Berlin Middle/High School recently unveiled a new costume for its mascot, the Mountaineer. The mascot remains the same, however due to years of wear the district felt it was necessary to replace the costume. The students with the mascot are (from left to right): Alyssa Bierwirth, Taylor Meyer, Elysia Mars, and Katie Mellett The updated mascot costume will be making appearances at sports games and other events. As a baby Luke Hoag was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and at three years old he was granted a wish from Make-A-Wish. A firm believer in the power of wishes, Luke has set a goal to raise $50,000 to make the wishes of other children come true this year. You can help by writing letters to Santa. Friday and Saturday November 18 and 19 the Berlin MS Dramateers will present their production of Willy Wonka, Jr.

Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner

On Saturday, November 19, the New Lebanon Jr./Sr. High School Food Club invites everyone to its annual free community Thanksgiving dinner. The dinner is free to attend. It runs from 4:30 to 6 pm. in the cafeteria of the high school, at 14665 Route 22 in New Lebanon. Take-outs are also available for those who cannot attend. The meal includes turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, squash, rolls, beverages and pie.
Reservations are preferred to allow for sufficient food for those attending. They may be made by calling 794-7600.
