The Hoosick Falls Central School took a total of 270 water samples on September 24 building-wide from classroom sinks, drinking fountains, and other taps, to be tested for lead levels in the water. Elementary School In New Lebanon Has 19 Taps Above The 15 ppb Threshold

At its School Board meeting on November 16, New Lebanon Central School District announced that it has received results of lead testing for the Walter B Howard Elementary School. Berlin District Has 51 Taps Above The 15 ppb Threshold

Water from the High School/Middle School and the Elementary School in the Berlin School District has tested positive for lead, it was reported at the Tuesday, November 15 School Board meeting.
According the District’s Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, Cyril Grant, 17 of 39 samples from the Elementary School and 34 of 94 samples at the High School/Middle School came back with lead amounts higher than the New York State accepted level of 15 parts per billion (ppb). New Mascot Costume For Berlin Mountaineers
Berlin Middle/High School recently unveiled a new costume for its mascot, the Mountaineer. The mascot remains the same, however due to years of wear the district felt it was necessary to replace the costume. The students with the mascot are (from left to right): Alyssa Bierwirth, Taylor Meyer, Elysia Mars, and Katie Mellett The updated mascot costume will be making appearances at sports games and other events. Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner

On Saturday, November 19, the New Lebanon Jr./Sr. High School Food Club invites everyone to its annual free community Thanksgiving dinner. The dinner is free to attend. It runs from 4:30 to 6 pm. in the cafeteria of the high school, at 14665 Route 22 in New Lebanon. Take-outs are also available for those who cannot attend. The meal includes turkey with stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, squash, rolls, beverages and pie.
Reservations are preferred to allow for sufficient food for those attending. They may be made by calling 794-7600.
