The New Lebanon eighth grade Spanish class, under the direction of Spanish Teacher Kara Siciliano, went on a field trip to New York City in March. This project was supported by a grant from the New Lebanon Education Foundation, a fund of the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation. The objective of the trip was to raise awareness and understanding about the cultural richness and presence of Hispanic culture as it exists in Harlem.

Berlin And New Lebanon Alumni Night
On Friday night, March 2, New Lebanon and Berlin alumni will face off in games of volleyball and basketball. Volleyball will start at 5:30 pm to be followed by basketball at 7. Admission is $1 for students and senior citizens and $2 for adults. There will be a concession stand run by students from both schools.
Proceeds will benefit the Berlin class of 2012 and the New Lebanon class of 2013.

With the word out that the historic Union Free School building in New Lebanon is to be demolished this week, many from the Town and the surrounding areas have been coming by to take one last look at the structure which has been a part of the Town’s personality for 99 years.

The Berlin/New Lebanon swim teams took on Taconic on Tuesday, with the girls picking up a close 49-44 win while the boys fell 51-39.

The Demise Of The Union Free School Building Delayed

The Union Free School building of New Lebanon has had its fate postponed yet once again, this time until August 31.
Bids have already been solicited for the demolition of the structure by the School Board of New Lebanon. The bids were to have been opened and considered at the August 17 meeting of the School Board, however this was put off after New Lebanon Town Supervisor Margaret Robertson appeared before the School Board with a resolution from the Town Board that the Union Free School be considered as a possible site for the Town’s next Town Hall.
