Lilac’s Hot Shooting Continues As Panthers Win

Coming off a career night at Stillwater last Tuesday, Alex Lilac showed no mercy on Hoosic Valley last Friday night. The Hoosick Falls senior buried 6 three-pointers en route to 27 points as the Panthers locked up at least a share of the Wasaren League title with a 59-43 win over the Indians. The win wasn’t a walk in the park for Hoosick Falls though.

Next HFCS PTA Meeting

St. Rose Champion Coach Is Speaker At HF Girls Soccer Banquet

NCAA Division II 2011 Coach of the Year Laurie Darling Gutheil was the guest speaker at the HFCS Girls Soccer banquet on Sunday, January 29. This year Gutheil coached her St. Rose women’s soccer team to the school’s first ever National Championship in Division 2. Their record was 24-1-1. She said her team was focused from day one.

Dramatic Pin Gives Panthers Ken Baker Classic WASAREN League Title

In a full day of wrestling between 11 teams and over 100 wrestlers, what are the chances that the team championship would come down to one match towards the end of the finals. Well that is just what happened Saturday at the Wasaren League Ken Baker Classic at Hoosick Falls.

Lilac Ties School Record On A Career Performance

Tuesday night was a very special night for Alex Lilac. Hoosick Falls’ senior point guard was getting his one and only opportunity to play on the basketball court at Stillwater, which was named for his grandfather, Hall of Fame coach Mike Lilac. It was also an opportunity for Lilac and his teammates to make their final push to win another Wasaren League title. The SUNY Cortland bound senior rose to the occasion and put on a show for everyone.

HFCS Bowlers Win Adirondack League Tournament; Beat Archrivals
On Tuesday, January 31, the Hoosick Falls bowling team won the Adirondack League Tournament by beating its archrival, Fort Edward, at the Broadway Lanes in Fort Edward with a total pin count of 3,077 for five bowlers. Second Half Surge Carry Panthers Past Cambridge

The Hoosick Falls boys basketball team ran into one of their toughest games of the year last Friday night against an unlikely opponent. Cambridge has had a less than stellar season thus far, having just one victory over Tamarac to their credit. On Friday the two rival schools faced off and, for almost three quarters, played a game that did not have the feel of the top and bottom teams in the standings.

Hoosick Falls Elementary School Registration For September 2012 Kindergarten Class
Hoosick Falls Elementary School has started the process of creating a registry/mailing list of new students for the September 2012 kindergarten class.
If you have a child who will be five years old by December 1, 2012, please call the Elementary School office as soon as possible at 686-9492 to ensure that your child’s name is placed on our mailing list. Registration packets will be handed out to parents on an information night which has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 7.
Kindergarten screening will occur during the week of June 18.
