The Hoosick Falls Central School PTA recently received a $750 grant through Stewart’s Holiday Match program recognizing organizations that support children’s programs throughout the communities it serves. Hoosick Falls Central School’s PTA is donating the grant to the 7-12 grade instrumental music program to purchase music for its annual participation in the New York State School Music Association Solo Festival.

HFCS Adopts 2012-2013 Budget

The Hoosick Falls School Board adopted the budget for the 2012-13 school year last week. Total spending of $20,984,082 is up by a little over $1 million, which is just over 5%. About $349,000 of the new money will come from an increase in State aid, about $465,000 will come from a larger fund balance being applied to next year’s budget, and about $175,000 will come from a 2% increase in the tax levy.

HFCS PTA To Host Book Fair Event On May 10
Hoosick Falls Central School PTA will host a Scholastic Book Fair and Family Night Luau on Thursday, May 10, from 6 to 8 pm with ice cream and popcorn in the elementary cafeteria. The goal of this annual event is to increase literacy among students and raise funds to purchase books for the elementary school library. Families, teachers and the community are invited to attend the Book Fair for a night of fun for everyone!

The Hoosick Falls Central School A.D.A.P.T group is sponsoring a Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament on Saturday, April 28, at the Polish Hall in Hoosick Falls. Hoosick Falls Central School is proud to announce that Rachel Quackenbush, a senior pitcher on the Panther Varsity Softball Team, will be signing her national letter of intent to play at Division I Siena College next year.
We cordially invite the public to the signing ceremony which will take place on Friday April 20, at 2:30 pm in the high school cafeteria. Please join us as we recognize Rachel’s significant accomplishment and wish her well as she moves forward to compete at the collegiate level.
