Panther Field Hockey Wins Two In OT

In a week of overtime games, the Lady Panther field hockey team took two extra time victories back to HFCS.
On Sunday, on the beautiful Schuylerville artificial turf field, Hoosick Falls pulled out a 3-2 double overtime victory against a tough Granville squad. Eighth-grader Erika Quackenbush scored two regulation game goals, and Carsen Williams fired in the winning overtime goal.

HFCS PTA 2011 Fall Festival
HFCS PTA is proud to announce its featured raffle items for the Eleventh Annual Fall Festival being held on Saturday, October 22, from 9 am to 3 pm at Hoosick Falls Central School.
Each year, the featured raffle items are always an event in themselves, and 2011 will be no exception. The public can get a sneak peek at them prior to the Festival now to October 21 at the Hoosick Federal Credit Union.

White Creek Bridge Repair Delay May Affect HFCS Bus Operations

Hoosick Falls School Board President Greg Laurin told his Board at last week’s meeting that he was concerned about the Town delaying action to get the White Creek bridge replaced, and he urged the School Board to open up lines of communication with the Hoosick Town Board about the issue.
The bridge’s load rating was reduced to 16 tons a year ago after deterioration was detected and evaluated. Laurin was concerned that if there is further deterioration and the load rating is lowered again, school buses might not be able to use it, which would impair the school’s bus operations.

Football Game Moved & Last Week Panthers Trounce Bengals In Time Warner Game Of The Week
The varsity football game between Hoosick Falls and Hoosic Valley has been moved to Saturday, October 1, at 7 pm at Stillwater.

Last Friday night’s Hoosick Falls-Tamarac match up on the gridiron pitted the top two teams in the North Division of Class C. Both the Bengals and the Panthers entered the game undefeated, earning the game the Time Warner “Game of the Week.” The distinction would give the entire Capital Region the chance to see small school football at its best. Ultimately, only one team showed that they were ready to step up to that challenge.

The Hoosick Falls Boys Varsity soccer team has struggled through the first half of the 2011 season compiling a 1-3-1 record entering this week’s games at Granville and home against Tamarac.
On Friday, September 23, the Panthers traveled to Granville looking to pick up their first WASAREN League victory. On a rainy day Hoosick Falls secured a 3-1 victory. HFCS Field Hockey Loses To Greenwich In A Defensive Struggle

The Lady Panthers hosted the Greenwich Witches, the Panthers biggest rival in field hockey, in a game that could have big consequences in the future. Defense was the name of the game as the Witches scored at the mid-point of the first half and that single goal was enough to take a hard fought 1 – 0 victory back to Whipple City.
