Taconic Valley Youth Basketball sponsored by PVMCC will hold a sign-up night on Tuesday, October 18, from 6 to 8 pm at the Petersburgh Veteran’s Memorial Community Center. This program is open to all children within the Berlin Central School District in first through sixth grade.
Registration costs $25 per child which includes a shirt.
Coaches and assistant coaches are needed.

Community Supported Sidewalk At BES
Local contractors, elected officials and community residents volunteered their time and equipment on September 16 to 18 to replace various sections of the existing concrete sidewalk at the Berlin Elementary School which had become severely deteriorated, creating a serious potential for trips and falls.

The New BCSD Superintendent Of Schools – A Chance For Change

“The chance for change is now,” stated Dr. Stephen Young, who is a man with a plan. Many plans in fact. And the Berlin Central School District’s new Superintendent of Schools wants to bring those plans to the residents. Young sees communication in the District as one of his top priorities. “Once word gets out that this man means business,” said Young in a September 12 interview, “things will change.”

Mountaineer Runners Top Tamarac

The Berlin boys and girls cross country teams hosted Tamarac and Emma Willard this week in Wasaren League Competition. The girls team fell 33-26 to Emma Willard and defeated an incomplete Tamarac team. Kailey Corrado led the Lady Mountaineers with a second place finish in 24:50. Brittany Dickhaus took sixth, Hailey Styer tenth, Anne Marie Gerdan 18th, Danielle Jones 19th and Erika Pelletier 20th place.
