The BCS boys varsity soccer team had six players named to the CHVL All Star Team. Jackson Burhans – goalie, Matt Rokjer and Calvin Mars – defense and Zach Spaniol – midfield were named first team all stars.
Seiji Akera – defense and Keel Krumenacker – striker were named to the second team.

The BCS girls cross country team took second in Sectionals on Friday, October 31. Maggie Gordon finished third and Serena Rizzo fourth. They have both qualified for the state meet.
The Berlin High School and Middle School will once again be hosting a ceremony honoring our local veterans, past and present. On Thursday, November 6, the morning begins with coffee, donuts and muffins for the veterans at 8 am in the cafeteria. At 9 am the veterans will be invited to the auditorium for the recognition program. We welcome all veterans with one guest.

The Berlin boys soccer team traveled to Lake George, the 10th ranked team in the State, on Monday, October 27, for the Quarterfinals of the Class C Sectionals. It started out chilly and wet in Berlin but turned into a sunny warm day in Lake George. The players were happy to see that so many of their supporters were able and willing to come cheer them on.

The Berlin girls soccer team played a great game Saturday, October 25, defeating Hoosick Valley. The girls came into the Class C Sectional game as the CHVL’s league champions and were looking to start off their trip to the Sectional finals with a big win over H.V.

Berlin boys varsity soccer finished the regular season undefeated and were CHVL champions. They went into Class C sectionals ranked 5th with a first round bye, guaranteed a home game. [Read more…] about BCS Boys Soccer Win Sectional Game Against Middleburg
• Friday, October 24 – Boys varsity soccer sectional game at home at 3 pm.
• Saturday, October 25 – Girls varsity soccer sectional game at home vs Hoosic Valley at 3 pm.
• Monday, October 27 – Boys varsity soccer sectional at Lake George at 3 pm with a Friday win and a Lake George win.
• Tuesday, October 28 – Girls varsity soccer at Oppeheim at 3 pm with a win Saturday.
• Friday, October 31 – Cross country sectionals at Saratoga at 11 am.

Trailing 1 to 0 at halftime, Zach Spaniol scored on a penalty kick to knot the game at 1 and Ryan Shumway scored late in the second half to put the boys varsity soccer team ahead to stay. Zach Spaniol iced the game with another penalty kick with 6 minutes left in the game for a 3 to 1 win over Loudonville Christian.
Jackson Burhans made 13 saves, and the defense of Matt Rokjer, Calvin Mars, Seiji Akera and Dan Bentley preserved the win. With the win the Berlin boys soccer team is the CHVL League champion having gone undefeated for the season with 13 wins and 2 ties.
