Berlin Boys And Girls Soccer Teams End Season With Sectional Losses

Both Berlin Varsity Soccer Teams had great regular season records, the Boys even sharing in the Central Hudson Valley League title.  Good enough were their efforts that both teams got home games in their opening Section II games, and ironically enough, both squads faced Northville’s Falcons.  It was at the feet of these Falcons that both Berlin teams’ seasons came to an end. Students learned about fire safety, explored fire trucks and other firefighting equipment, and met some real life community heroes during Berlin Elementary School’s Fire Prevention Program October 7. All four fire departments in the Berlin Central School District were at the school to talk about fire prevention and share the many ways firefighters and EMTs help keep our communities safe. Berlin Boys Soccer Finish In A Tie For CHVL Crown

2015-2016 Berlin HS Pizza Night Fundraiser

This year’s pizza night fundraiser benefits Berlin students that will be traveling to Costa Rica in April. Besides learning about the history of Costa Rica and its capital San José, students, faculty, and a couple of parents will be spending the week learning about coffee plantations, rainforests, EARTH University, and sustainable farming. Berlin Boys Battle For First Place In League Soccer Play

Heartbreak on the soccer field this past week as the Berlin Mountaineers Boys Squad lost both the game and first place in the Central Hudson Valley League.  The Eagles of Loudonville Christian scored with just over three minutes left to play to break a 1-1 tie.  The victory also gave the Eagles sole possession of first place in the league, with the Mountaineers holding down second.  [Read more…] about Berlin Boys Battle For First Place In League Soccer Play

Berlin Boys Soccer Wins At Home vs New Lebanon, Loses Close One At Doane Stuart

On Friday October 2, the Berlin Boys Soccer team lost a close one to Doane Stuart in Rensselaer by a score of 1-0. This was the Mountaineers first league loss this season, and drops them into a tie with Loudonville Christian, whom they beat earlier this year.  Berlin’s only other loss was in the New Lebanon tournament to Mt. Fall Fest At Berlin High School

Questar III Report On Berlin District Provides Guidance

A presentation by Questar III BOCES of their report on the District’s learning environment was the subject of most of the September meeting of the Berlin School Board last Tuesday.
The study, which began in March 2015, was conducted with the purpose of “maximizing student achievement” in the District, according to Jane King, one of the members from the Questar III team who documented their findings in the District.
