Cantering Cowpokes 4-H Club won 1st place for the Prettiest Float in the 4th of July parade with our “Something’s Fishy” float and accompanying fish, mermaids, turtle, and sea horses. County Health Department Warns Of Tick Borne Disease: Reported Cases of Anaplasmosis Have Sharply Increased In Rensselaer County
The Rensselaer County Health Department is urging residents to take precautions to prevent exposure to tick borne diseases including Lyme, Anaplasmosis, and Babesiosis.
The warning stems from a significant increase in the number of cases of Anaplasmosis found in Rensselaer County in 2015 particularly in the Hoosick Falls/Petersburgh region. Senator Kathy Marchione, Chair of the Senate’s Local Government Committee, has announced that her bi-partisan legislation to help local communities address the growing challenge of abandoned buildings has been unanimously passed by the New York State Senate.
