Rensselaer Land Trust Opens Kinderhook Creek Nature Preserve In Nassau

Over 100 people attended the Kinderhook Creek Nature Preserve evergreen garland cutting ceremony including Mike Moore from the Governors Office, David Fleming, Jr. Supervisor for the Town of Nassau, and Mitch Levinn Mayor for the Village of East Nassau.  The 73 acre nature preserve was created from land donations from four neighbors:  David and Lucy Gaskell, Bob and Jennifer Newton, the late Kenneth York, and the Edward W. Electronics Recycling Event October 3

The Rensselaer County Legislature and the County Environmental Management Council are teaming up to sponsor an electronics recycling day, Chair of the Legislature Stan Brownell announced.

The electronics recycling event will be held Saturday, October 3 from 9:30 am to 2 pm. The recycling event will be held at the County Office Building, 1600 7th Avenue, downtown Troy.

Cyclists From Near And Far Proclaim Brown’s Covered Bridge Tour A Success, Vow To Do It Again Next Year

It could not have been a better day for the first-ever Brown’s Brewing Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour. Gorgeous blue skies with a few wispy clouds, absolutely perfect. The riders were excited, yet relaxed, since this was a tour, not a race. Starting and finishing at Brown’s Walloomsac Brewery in Hoosick Falls, the non-competitive ride featured a tour of historic covered bridges over the majestic Hoosick and Battenkill Rivers.
