GPS Devices Should Be Mandated In County Bus Contracts

Real Estate Values In Eastwick

The real estate market in this area has clearly pulled back in 2008 from the boom years of 2005 to 2007. Prices are down a bit from their peaks at the top of the boom but in general seem to be above the five year average and higher than they were in 2004. While we can’t yet say that the market has stabilized, we might be able to characterize it as moving toward stabilization. All of the realtors consulted for this story reported an uncharacteristic flurry of activity in January, which seems to bode well for climbing out of the doldrums of 2008 in the coming year.

Amendment Named For Horse Killed In Hoosick

The brutal killing of the bay   Skye, owned by Dawn Feathers, in her stall on Hill Road in Hoosick prompted County Legislators Lester Goodermote and Stan Brownell to introduce a resolution  at Tuesday night’s Rensselaer County Legislative session calling for the State to strengthen Buster’s Law, a law which, several years ago, established the felony category of aggravated cruelty toward animals.

Burglary Suspects Captured In Hoosick

NYS State Police news release

 

On January 8 the NYS Police in Brunswick executed a search warrant at a residence located on Telford Road in the Town of Hoosick, as a result of an ongoing investigation into several burglaries that had occurred in the area. As a result, police seized the apparent proceeds of several reported burglaries.

Goodermote And Brownell Seek To Strengthen Buster’s Law

Grafton’s John Darling OnJudicial Screening Panel

Rensselaer County Democratic Party Chairman Thomas W. Wade recently announced the formation of a judicial screening committee.  The panel will interview serious candidates for the County Court Judgeship soon to be vacated by Judge Patrick J. McGrath who was elected to the State Supreme Court on November 4.
