The main event at Tuesday’s New Lebanon Town Board meeting was the semi-quarterly Lebanon Valley Speedway campground showdown. Every few months the Town pits itself against Speedway owner Howard Commander in a seemingly endless struggle to have him fulfill some requirements for a campground permit for a campground that opens each race season anyway, permit or no permit.

Berkshire band The Limb Shakers will be performing at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, September 21, at 6:30 pm. They will perform a program of old time jazz and swing music at this event, which is free and open to the public although donations for the performers are appreciated.

Sand Lake Historical Society And Bicentennial Planning Meeting
There will be a combined meeting of the Sand Lake Historical Society and the Bicentennial Planning Committee on Tuesday, September 11, at 6 pm at the Sand Lake Baptist Church, 2960 NY 43 in Averill Park. It will be a covered dish dinner. Please bring an entrée or salad. Dessert, beverages and table settings will be provided. The program will be the Bicentennial in Review. Your pictures and remembrances will be welcomed as well as items of historical significance to be considered for the time capsule. Musical selections will be provided by Betsy & Steve Fry and Friends
Robin O’Herin To Perform At The New Lebanon Library
Berkshire musician Robin O’Herin will be performing at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, September 14, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public, although donations for the performer are appreciated.
O’Herin specializes in historically rich, interactive concerts that include original and traditional American music. Keelaghan In Concert
The Sand Lake Center for the Arts will present James Keelaghan in concert on Saturday, September 8, at 8 pm. Known as “Canada’s finest singer/songwriter. . . a man for all seasons,” Keelaghan has received the esteemed Juno award (Canada’s Grammy). He is acclaimed from Australia to England and Scandinavia with his masterful storytelling, lilting baritone and driving rhythmic guitar. Shaker Waterworks Tour
On Saturday, September 1, at 2 pm Shaker Museum President David Stocks will lead visitors on a tour of the North Family Waterworks, a marvel of architecture and ingenuity. This tour is free. Participants will meet at the North Family Granary.
