Lisa Little Wolf will talk about Native American culture at 7 pm on Thursday, November 15, at the New Lebanon Library. She will dress in traditional garb and tell about the traditions of different geographic regions, which have changed little over the years and are passed along through families.

Doug Schmolze To Perform At New Lebanon Library
Berkshire musician Doug Schmolze will be performing at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, November 16, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. This event is free and open to the public, although donations for the performer are appreciated.
Schmolze’s program will include traditional folk songs and sing-along favorites as well as songs from the American songbook from the 30s, 40s and 50s from composers such as Harold Arlen, Cole Porter and Rodgers and Hammerstein. He will also perform solo guitar pieces from Latin American and Spanish composers including Flamenco.

DEC Lists Notice Of Stephentown ZBA Acceptance Of Motocross Environmental Statement

The State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced on its Environmental Notice Bulletin website that the Stephentown Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA), as lead agency, has accepted a Draft Environmental Impact Statement on the Stephentown Motocross Track proposed for a site off of Webster Hill Road. This action occurred at the ZBA meeting on October 4.

New Lebanon Library November Events
The New Lebanon Library announces the following November events. All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• November 7, 14, 21, 28 (event is on Wednesdays) – Kid’s Stuff – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 10:30 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.

North Chatham Library Presents Wildlife
On Sunday, November 4, at 3 pm, Brian Robinson, biologist and teacher, will bring some of the wild birds and reptiles he raises for a presentation at the North Chatham Library. This program is for all ages. The Library is located at 4287 Route 203 in the hamlet of North Chatham. For more information, phone 766-3211.
Flying Deer Tracking Club
The newly formed Flying Deer Tracking Club will meet on Saturday, October 20, from 9 am to noon at a location to be announced. The Tracking Club is an opportunity for adults 18 and older to further their nature education and enjoy time in the fields and forests. We hope to offer a similar program for kids and/or families in future. Members will learn to identify animals by their tracks, recognize scat and other signs left by animals, recognize animal gaits and track patterns, follow trails through varying landscapes and uncover mysteries.

New Lebanon Ethics Board Will Stay Put

What happens in New Lebanon stays in New Lebanon – at least for the moment. A vote at Tuesday’s Board meeting on the enactment of proposed Local Law #1, which would have sent allegations of ethical impropriety to the Columbia County Ethics Board and dissolved the local ethics board, failed to pass.
“The matter is effectively dead,” said Town Clerk Colleen Teal. Although it could be brought back at a later time, she noted. Immaculate Conception Gardening In New Lebanon
Retired school teacher, Peter Morrow, has already begun to prepare the garden soil at Immaculate Conception/St. Joseph Parish in New Lebanon for next spring’s plantings. Peter has spent his summer making improvements in the fenced plot where smaller parcels of land are offered to anyone who is interested in growing fresh vegetables for the home.
