The New Lebanon Town Board will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, February 26, at 7 pm at the New Lebanon Town Hall at 14755 Route 22. The record of the fiscal activities of the Town Board will become public record with the filing of the Annual Updated Document (AUD). Approving the AUD is the topic of the special meeting.

Columbia Land Conservancy Offers Children’s Program At The New Lebanon Library
The Columbia Land Conservancy will present “Animal Tracks” on Thursday, February 21, at 2 pm at the New Lebanon Library. The program is oriented to school-aged children.
Tracks and traces can provide a glimpse into the lives of animals whose actions are otherwise hidden. Participants will learn about track patterns, identify the animals that made them and make plaster casts of local animals to take home.

An Evening Of Jazz And Swing With The Limb Shakers At The New Lebanon Library
Berkshire band The Limb Shakers will be performing at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, February 8, at 6:30 pm. They will perform a program of old time jazz and swing music at this event, which is free and open to the public although donations for the performers are appreciated.
The Limb Shakers have played swing dances at Club Helsinki and given concerts throughout western Massachusetts and New York. The band features Allen Livermore on saxophone and clarinet, bassist Seth Travins and Alfred Brewer on trombone. Allen Livermore has performed at clubs, restaurants, resorts, colleges and arts spaces throughout New England and New York. “Sauerkraut Seth” Travins has toured extensively as bassist for Hudson Valley band The Wiyos. Berkshire-based Alfred Brewer performs on alto, tenor and bass trombones and euphonium. He currently studies with Norman Bolter at the New England Conservatory

Grover And Worster To Perform Together At New Lebanon Library
Local favorites David Grover and Linda Worster will be performing together at the New Lebanon Library on Friday, February 15, from 6 to 8 pm. The public is welcome and the event is free.
David Grover has earned countless awards including a Grammy nomination and Artist of the Year. He spent many years as Arlo Guthrie’s lead guitarist and band leader. Grover and his Big Bear Band have performed at the White House, opened the Goodwill Games, appeared on The Today Show, performed with the Detroit Symphony for their Youth Series and played for the delegates of the United Nations.
Linda Worster has toured as a solo musician throughout New England, New York and New Jersey performing in many coffee houses, colleges, churches, healing centers, cafés and clubs. She has opened for many well known artists including Livingston Taylor, Harry Chapin, Paul Stookey, Leo Kotke, David Bromberg, Bill Staines, Dave Mallett, Jonathan Edwards, Joan Baez, Richie Havens and Taj Mahal.

February Events At The New Lebanon Library
The New Lebanon Library will hold the following February events. All of these events are free and will take place at the Library which is located at 550 State Route 20.
• February 13, 20, 27 (event is on Wednesdays) – Tales for Tots Story Hour – 10:30 am. Story hour includes crafts, songs and movement activities.
• February 13, 20, 27 (event is on Wednesdays) – Hug-A-Bye Babies – noon. This involves age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for our youngest patrons and their caregivers.
• February 14, 21, 28 (event is on Thursdays) – Bright Beginnings Story Hour and Play Group – 11 am to 2 pm. Meet other parents and care providers while your child aged 0-5 hears a story then socializes with other children in an unstructured, educational setting.
• February 14 – Valentine Movie Night – 6:30 pm. Come enjoy a free screening of the romantic classic Casablanca.
• February 15 – David Grover and Linda Worster in Concert Together – 6 pm. Enjoy an evening of exceptional acoustic music with these two Berkshire favorites.
• February 19 – Bingo for Kids – 1:30 pm.
• February 21 – Animal Tracks – 2 pm. This wildlife program is presented by the Columbia Land Conservancy. Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
• February 22 – Family Movie Night – 6:30 pm. See a current film suitable for the whole family. Popcorn will be provided. Call for title.
• February 23 – Paws-to-Read – 9 am. Therapy dogs come to the library, and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
• February 28 – Community Film Night – 6:30pm. A current documentary film will be shown with a discussion to follow. Call for title.
• March 1 – Coffeehouse Night – 6 pm. Enjoy singer/songwriter Linda Worster in concert. Light refreshments will be served.

Rabid Fox Attacks Three People In New Lebanon

A fox which attacked three people in New Lebanon has tested positive for rabies.
The attack occurred on Saturday, January 12, near the junction of West Street and Route 20. At around 6:30 pm Parks Maintenance Supervisor Scott Larabee returned to his home and was set upon by the animal.

New York State Awards Shaker Museum | Mount Lebanon A $150,000 Grant To Expand Mount Lebanon Site
The Shaker Museum | Mount Lebanon is proud to announce that it has received a $150,000 grant from the Environmental Protection Fund of New York State to purchase an historic agricultural holding adjacent to the North Family called the North Pastures. The 61 acres of the North Pastures is currently in disuse and largely reforested. The Museum’s purchase of this land will expand the site to allow for better access, modern facilities and enhanced programming.
