Shaker Museum / Mount Lebanon To Hold Peace Weekend

The Shaker Museum|Mount Lebanon will host a weekend of events and programs to commemorate over 200 years of Shaker pacifism, Saturday, August 29 through Monday, August 31. The owner is Renee Parker (née Koronas), a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School (Class of ’02) and the mother of two children, aged four and eight and a half months. The Theater Barn Opens Evita

In 1979, the musical Evita opened on Broadway at the Broadway Theatre starring Patti LuPone as Eva Peron and Mandy Patinkin as Che.  It ran for 1,567 performances, and won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The Battenkill Chorale is accepting experienced choral singers for their twenty-first season, which opens with a program connected to the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams’ impassioned plea for peace, Dona Nobis Pacem, January 17 at Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall at Zankel Music Center, Skidmore College. Soloists Sylvia Stoner (Artist-in-Residence at Skidmore) and Keith Kibler will join the 100-voice chorus and 45-piece professional orchestra in this poignant work.
