Many Questions Answered At PFOA Meeting

The C-8 Group in Petersburgh held a very successful meeting on PFOA issues on Tuesday September 6 at the PVMCC. There was a large panel of experts there, including DEC Region 4 Director Keith Goetz and three others from DEC, three from NYS Dept. of Health, two from the EPA, and four from the County, including Kathy Jimino, Stan Brownell, Mary Fran Wachunas and Rich Elder.

Lady Mountaineers Open Their CHVL League Play With A Shutout Of The Rensselaer Rams

The Berlin Girls’ Soccer Team had its first league contest at Rensselaer well in hand by halftime and cruised to a 6-0 victory over their Central Hudson Valley League opponent. Jewel Pietrzak, Berlin’s all-time leading scorer, netted another three goals in the contest, two from the field and one on a penalty kick. NY State Offers To Put A Carbon Filtration System On Berlin’s Water District

Berlin Town Supervisor Rob Jaeger announced to the Town Board at the August 25 workshop meeting that the state is willing to place a carbon filtration system at the pump site to cover all of the 182 users in Water District 2.  New York has indicated it will assume all the costs including maintenance.
